Southern Caritas Initiative
Southern Caritas Initiative is a non-profit humanitarian organization, formed to enrich the quality of life for displaced children and persons living with HIV/AIDS. We achieve our goals through sponsorship and fundraising activities which we then channel to the specific charities.
We aim to stimulate greater local awareness and assist with educating the public and to provide the impetus for compassionate and intelligent giving.
We recognize that education is integral to building a better society. As Abraham Lincoln once said, “Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.” Thus, we are dedicated to enhancing the reading skills and encouraging creativity in our nation’s youth by periodically sponsoring literacy and creativity workshops.
The HIV/AIDS epidemic is close to the heart of Southern Caritas Initiative. We pledge to raise funds to assist those who provide counselling and support to those suffering with the disease.

A co-worker of mine sent me this video after we had a conversation in the lunch room about how much food is wasted on a daily basis. It really touched my heart, I've put it here as a reminder about those who are less fortunate and the many children who need basic necessities right now for survival.
